| Patent Moot Court CLE at the Waldorf-Astoria
A unique patent moot court CLE program will take place at the Waldorf-Astoria on Friday March 26th under the leadership of the several IP-focused American Inns of Court in conjunction with the Annual Judges’ Dinner of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association that evening.
The mid-day CLE program will include a reception, luncheon and then a mock patent trial segment and a discussion by a distinguished panel. The judge for the argument will be Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce Sharon R. Barner with a discussion group including the Hon. Barbara S. Jones, District Judge, Southern District Court of New York; Hon. William G. Young, District Judge, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and a distinguished panel of litigants. The Hon. Richard Linn will also participate in the program. The program will feature experienced litigators Richard Rainey and Robert Krupka who will examine and cross-examine expert witness John Lane.
The Ten IP-Focused American Inns of Court: The American Inns of Court movement of the past thirty-some years has now had rapid expansion in the area of IP-based Inns with ten (10) IP Inns now spread across the United States, with more to come. The AIC experience is unique in uniting in local chapters a cross-section of very senior members of the bar – including Federal Judges at both the trial and appellate level including two members of the Supreme Court who were active as Circuit Judges, mid-level attorneys and newcomers to the profession both in the student and lawyer ranks.
The Hon. William Connor Inn; the Hon. Paul R. Michel Inn: Celebrating in particular the success of the William Connor Inn in New York and the nomination of the Los Angeles Inn as the Hon Paul R. Michel American Inn of Court, the IP Inns will be putting on a special CLE program mid-day prior to the Annual Judges’ Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria on Friday, March 26th.
This is an exceptional opportunity both for current members, but also AIC Inn alumni and members of the bar and law students interested in the Inns to have a chance to interact with AIC leaders.
